Frequently Asked Questions

Q.  Do you charge for quotations?

A.  Certainly not. They are free and you’re under no obligation whatsoever to buy from us.

Q.  Do you offer a free kitchen design service?

A.  Yes. We will arrange for one of our designers to pop round and meet you. He/she will discuss the layout and requirements of your new kitchen then produce a plan along with 3D drawings so you can see what your new kitchen will look like. You will also receive a quotation for your new kitchen so you’ll know exactly how much it will cost.

Q. Can I choose the kitchen style along with type of worktops?

A. Sure. We supply and fit kitchens in many different style and finishes and you’ll be able to choose the style you want, along with the style, type or colour of the worktops, when meeting with our designer.

Q.  What is the normal fitting procedure for my new kitchen?

A.  For a total new kitchen install the procedure is normally: Temporarily disconnect water supply to remove sink, disconnect old appliances and white goods etc, remove old kitchen units and worktops. Electrics: modify or add additional sockets (if required) by chasing into walls for cables and back-boxes.  If new lighting is required, cut out for new ceiling spotlights, re-plaster old walls and ceiling if necessary. Fit kitchen base and wall units, router and cut worktops out for sink and hob, fit worktops into place, connect hob and sink, connect up electrical sockets, fit appliances, fit kitchen cornice’s, fit kitchen unit doors & handles, fit splash-backs, fit wall tiles (if required), fit new kitchen flooring (if required), fit base-unit plinths. New decoration if required.

Q.  I may wish to do some of the preparation work myself, is that OK?

A.  If you advise us at the start, we can take this into consideration when giving you our quotation. We do find on occasion that some of our clients are tradesmen who may wish to undertake some of the work themselves to save on costs, that’s fine.

Q. How long does a new kitchen installation normally take?

A. Depending on the size of your kitchen, normally 2-3 weeks.

Q.  Being without water downstairs for 2 weeks or so is a long time, can the water go back on in the kitchen before then?

A.  We often find that the elderly or disabled people need water downstairs, especially if that’s the only source of water, rather that going upstairs for it. That being the case, there’s normally not a problem to temporarily fit a tap to the cold water pipework in the kitchen to alleviate this, should you require us to do so. We’re always willing to help as much as we can.
